The Story of Pooja Saxena
Pooja Saxena is the Chief Executive Officer of Innovoidea, India. Her mission is to "build capacity resilience programs for disaster preparedness by training local communities on equipment and safety gear."
Innovoidea is made up of a team of specialized professionals in disaster and emergency management who provide comprehensive solutions to the health sector's medical safety equipment, including manufacturing, training programs, and product design knowledge.
Pooja Saxena’s first initiative was to co-develop a comprehensive catastrophe management curriculum at Symbiosis University, Pune, India. One of the insights of this lab experiment was the general lack of capacity building on issues related to disaster management preparedness in local communities.
Pooja Saxena's journey as a social entrepreneur has been to convince stakeholders that building capacity resilience programs for disaster preparedness for the masses has similar issues that could be addressed under the same framework with best practices for ensuring faster recovery in local communities in cases of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), innovation in Disaster Management, and Disaster Risk Reduction.
Innovoidea's goal is to create an ecosystem of partners to deliver resilience capacity-building programs in local communities. The aim is to create low-cost, safe-to-use, environmentally friendly training kits for any community by designing, manufacturing, testing, and retailing safety training kits for natural and man-made scenarios.
Innovoidea welcomes contributors who may offer technical knowledge or financial assistance. By becoming a benefactor, everyone can contribute to the development of the next generation of solutions that can be produced at an industrial scale with the use of safety gear, biological emergencies, and pandemic-related events.
