The Story of Sadique Yusif
Sadique Yusif is the founder of SIDIQ AGRI-FIRM. His mission is to encourage the adoption of climate-friendly farming techniques by the Ghanaian farming community and to address food security issues.
SIDIQ AGRI-FIRM is an Agri-Tech social enterprise based in Ghana with the aim to leverage climate-smart agriculture techniques as a more sustainable approach to farming, enhancing resilience in agriculture by selecting a range of innovative techniques, including regenerative agriculture practices and soil fertility management, leading to reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
Sadique Yusif's social entrepreneur journey took off when he introduced the benefits of smart farming technology to a large audience on a TV show, demonstrating the benefits of a more sustainable approach to farming to build capacity and empower communities to become self-reliant. Initially, Sadique was a farm manager and provided free advisory services to Ghana's agricultural communities, which enabled him to connect directly with the farming communities in Ghana and get an understanding and assessment of the farmer communities' challenges and how smart farming technologies could potentially increase yield and profits and reduce poverty.
Sadique Yusif's ambition is to establish a thirty-person capacity climate-smart farming training center integrated with a 5-hectare climate-smart agriculture farm estate to train and evaluate all aspects of smart farming technology that can be practiced and showcased on the farm estate.
The organization welcomes collaboration and partnerships with investors and donors who will contribute to further enriching our knowledge and best practices about smart farming technology practices for the development of farming communities in Ghana.
